These Are the Luxury Vehicles Everyone’s Buying Right Now Car and Driver

You're surely already familiar with the bestselling vehicles in America overall—Ford F-150s and Honda CR-Vs are everywhere on our roads and regularly dominate the sales charts. But what about vehicles with a bit more prestige? We've gathered the numbers for luxury-badged vehicles to see which models are selling the best so far in 2026, and while some are the usual suspects, other entries here may be more popular than you realize. Of course, they're all SUVs, but what else would you expect? We'll be updating this list quarterly as new data emerges, and we're curious to see what changes as the year progresses.More Sales Charts: Bestselling Cars in 2026 | Bestselling EVs in 2026 | Bestselling Luxury Cars in 202510Audi Q5: 10,100 units soldThe Q5 compact SUV is Audi's bestseller, and it was new for 2025. Sales are down slightly, but it still managed to sneak onto this list. The Audi has some work to do to catch up to its biggest rivals, which are selling better.More on the Audi Q59Buick Enclave: 10,699 units soldWe admit that the Enclave is not as much of a true luxury SUV as some others found on this list, given that it's based on the more downmarket Chevrolet Traverse. But it's priced to compete with models such as the Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60, so we categorize it as a mid-size luxury three-row SUV. It's the bestselling Buick so far in 2026.More on the Buick EnclaveAdvertisement - Continue Reading Below8Acura MDX: 10,928 units soldAcura was one of the first luxury brands to launch a three-row crossover, and the MDX is still going strong. Its sales were up 3 percent through the first quarter.More on the Acura MDX7Lexus TX: 12,489 units soldLexus was selling plenty of luxury SUVs long before the TX arrived, but it turns out the brand was correct to split off a separate three-row model. The hot-selling RX briefly offered a three-row variant called the RX L several years ago, but now that the new-ish TX nameplate has established itself, it's racking up a significant number of sales on its own.More on the Lexus TXAdvertisement - Continue Reading Below6Lexus NX: 13,219 units soldThe NX's 'tweener size (it fits between the subcompact and compact luxury segments) makes it a popular choice for those looking for a small-ish premium SUV. A gasoline engine is standard in the NX350, and it's also offered with multiple hybrid variants, including the fuel-efficient NX350h and the plug-in hybrid NX450h+.More on the Lexus NX5Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class: 16,378 units soldThe GLC is locked in a sales race with its closest competitor, the BMW X3. Through the first quarter, the Mercedes was slightly behind, but we'll see if the arrival of new AMG variants could change that later in the year. Its sales were up significantly through the first quarter, although it wasn't quite enough to make this the bestselling BMW.More on the BMW X33BMW X5: 18,680 units soldThe X5 is one of the oldest models in BMW's lineup, and it's due to be replaced with a new generation soon. That didn't stop it from being the brand's bestselling model, however, with sales up 7 percent through the first quarter. It's getting a significant refresh for 2027 (pictured), but the outgoing model is still going strong for now. We'll see if the changeover to the updated version affects sales later in the year. The RX isn't exactly a standout in any one area, but it has a well-established reputation as a comfortable luxury SUV and it does many things well. There are also multiple hybrid powertrains available to broaden its appeal.More on the Lexus RXJoey CapparellaDeputy Editor, Rankings ContentDespite being raised on a steady diet of base-model Hondas and Toyotas—or perhaps because of it—Joey Capparella cultivated an obsession for the automotive industry throughout his childhood in Nashville, Tennessee.
