About Jackson Kwok

I am Jackson Kwok, creator of The Daily Drive. I follow how artificial intelligence is changing vehicles and the businesses around them, from driver assistance and software to repair workflows. I created this website to make those developments easier to follow and discuss.

I have spent more than two decades in leadership and am a co-founder of AVCAPS, where we apply AI to the automotive aftermarket. Our focus is helping auto body shops streamline workflows, improve the accuracy of damage assessment, and reduce supplemental claims. At AVCAPS I work with teams developing AI appraisal platforms that improve efficiency and documentation. That experience informs my interest in practical tools, responsible evaluation, and the wider changes taking place across the automotive industry.

What I explore

My focus is on understanding automotive AI through practical questions. How does a new capability work? What evidence would help someone evaluate it? What changes when it reaches a business workflow?

This site combines original explainers with a daily briefing of reporting from across the industry. Original insights give me space to examine an idea in more detail. The Daily Drive helps readers discover the broader news and follow links to the original reporting.

Why The Daily Drive

Important developments are spread across many publications. A short briefing gives readers a starting point for following the subjects that matter to them, including autonomy, driver assistance, fleets, vehicle software, and policy.

A new edition is published every morning at 5:00 AM Pacific, and every edition is kept in the archive. The aim is to make the material approachable while keeping a clear route back to its sources. The briefing is a place to begin reading, rather than a replacement for the publishers who reported each story.

How this website is edited

Original Insights articles are published under my name after I review their wording and sources. The Daily Drive uses an automated process to select news stories. News links and any summaries are presented separately from my own commentary, and original publishers receive credit.
